Now on Display: Plein Air Lehigh Valley - Various Artists
What is "Plein Air"?
En plein air is a French expression meaning “in the open air”, and refers to the act of painting outdoors with the artist's subject in full view. Plein air artists capture the spirit and essence of a landscape or subject by incorporating natural light, color and movement into their works.
These paintings are part of the Lehigh Art Alliances’ annual June exhibition at the Nazareth Center for the Arts. Each piece was created outdoors in the Lehigh Valley in May of 2025. These paintings capture the beauty and diversity of our region in every brushstroke.
