This Must Be the Place
Sponsored by the Nazareth Area Photography Club (NAPC)
"This Must Be the Place” is our exhibit featuring a diverse selection of photos inspired by our homes, backyards, neighborhoods, and communities. ​NAPC members will be exhibiting their work alongside pieces by a variety of local photography artists. The exhibit showcases traditional photography (analog and digital) plus alternative processes such as cyanotype, solargraphy, and pinhole photography

Blackberry Brambles

These are wild blackberry brambles that grow on my property. I harvested these and soaked them in an eco-print solution for a few hours and then used a rubber mallet to "pound" them onto pre-coated paper. I used coarse sea salt, diluted ACV, turmeric and soap suds and then covered with plastic wrap and under heavy glass for over 5 hours.

This is a specific approach to black and white photography developed by Ansel Adams, which involves visualizing and controlling the tonal range of the photograph using a system of zones. Each zone represents a specific tonal value, from pure black to pure white, using a system of 11 zones.
