Cyanotypes for the Very Beginner is a hands-on introduction to one of photography’s earliest and most magical processes. Developed in 1842 by Sir John Herschel, cyanotype uses a simple mixture of light-sensitive chemicals and sunlight to create striking blue-and-white prints. Famously used by Anna Atkins to document plant life, the process remains both accessible and creatively rich today.
In this beginner-friendly workshop, participants will learn the basics step by step—coating paper, arranging objects, exposing prints in sunlight, and developing their images in water. No prior experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to experiment.
